Also fix the state change function for downwards state changes

make sure pads get deactivated and our chain function isn't
running and using those very same resources in another thread).
The jpeg line buffer only needs to be v_samp_factor*DCTSIZE lines
per plane, not picture_height lines; allocate that on the stack.

* gst/avi/gstavidemux.h:
Implement non-lineair chunk handling and subchunk processing.
The first solves playback of AVI files where the audio and video
data of individual buffers that we read are not synchronized.
This should not happen according to the wonderful AVI specs, but
of course it does happen in reality. It is also a prerequisite for
the second. Subchunk processing allows us to cut chunks in small
pieces and process each of these pieces separately. This is
required because I've seen several AVI files with incredibly large
audio chunks, even some files with only one audio chunk for the
whole file. This allows for proper playback including seeking.
This patch is supposed to fix all AVI A/V sync issues.
* gst/flx/gstflxdec.c: (gst_flxdec_class_init),
(flx_decode_chunks), (flx_decode_color), (gst_flxdec_loop):
Work.
* gst/modplug/gstmodplug.cc:
Proper return value setting for the query() function.
* gst/playback/gstplaybasebin.c: (setup_source):
Being in non-playing state (after, e.g., EOS) is not necessarily
a bad thing. Allow for that. This fixes playback of short files.
They don't actually playback fully now, because the clock already
runs. This means that small files (<500kB) with a small length
(<2sec) will still not or barely play. Other files, such as mod
or flx, will work correctly, however.

Sorry Dave... Add mpegversion=1 to mp3 caps everywhere so that the autoplugger uses mad and not faad for mp3 decoding. This should fix mp3 playback.
Original commit message from CVS:
This is a first attempt at a wrapper for the lib'ified mpeg2enc of
mjpegtools. Currently, there's a few release candidates for mjpegtools-1.6.2
available, but no stable version yet.
I've made 4 small subclasses to wrap input, output, options and generic
encoding model. The last .cc file is the GStreamer plugin element.
Note that it doesn't actually work yet, I'm doing something wrong with
header parsing and Andrew asked me to commit so he could help debugging
that. Apart from that, we should soon be able to make top-quality MPEG
encodes! :).
mpeg2enc licensing is tricky, btw, I don't even want to start discussing
that...

upgrades to the pixbuf loader:

Original commit message from CVS:
tagging stuff and build fixes. In detail:
- make gdk-pixbuf loader work when distchecking
- fix invalid syntax in ffmpeg Makefile. wildcards for EXTRA_DIST are not allowed. This broke builds where distdir != srcdir
- fix ffmpeg cvs grabbing when srcdir != distdir
- new id3tag plugin for id3 tag reading/writing (uses mad's libid3tag)
- mad and libid3tag require mad/libid3tag v0.15. Fixed configure to require that
- added ogg demuxer in ext/ogg. The demuxer does not handle events yet. Especially getting seeking right will require some effort or code copying from libvorbis.
- added raw vorbis detection to typefinding. oggdemux requires a typefind function to detect its contents.
- tags plugin in gst/tags. Provides API in <gst/tags/gsttagediting.h>. API includes tag matching GStreamer <=> ID3 and GStreamer <=> vorbis and writing/reading vorbiscomments or ID3v1 tags. Also included is a simple vorbiscomment reader/writer. Writing will not really work though until someone writes oggmux.
- various build fixes. Mostly missing (DIST)CLEANFILES.
- vorbisenc handles tag writing.
Now it's YOUR turn to fix and write more plugins that handle writing/reading of tags. :)

Original commit message from CVS:

Original commit message from CVS:
add initial version of gdkpixbuf loader for gtk that is capable of loading AVI and mpeg videos as GdkPixbufAnimation. I'm not sure if such a thing would be useful or too much trouble, so I'll throw it at enough testers to figure it out ;) We might want to disable it by defualt though in the future. (Currently there is not even a configure switch implemented to disable it.)
This includes a fix to not use GError in gstgdkpixbuf's typefind function and to only return GST_TYPE_FIND_MINIMUM when doing typefinding via gdk as this breaks quite a bit with the GStreamer loader installed.
Original commit message from CVS:
Fix this too. Note that the per-plugin licensing is gone because of company's new per-plugin (rather than per-element) API. We basically need both... Ohwell, I just want this stuff to compile.
Original commit message from CVS:
merge TYPEFIND branch. Major changes:
- totally reworked type(find) system
- all typefind functions are in gst/typefind now
- more typefind functions then before
- some plugins might fail to compile now because I don't have them installed and they
a) require bytestream or
b) haven't had their typefind fixed.
Please fix those plugins and put the typefind functions into gst/typefind if they don't have dependencies
Original commit message from CVS:
New typefind system:
* bytestream is now part of the core
* all plugins have been modified to use this new typefind system
* asf typefinding added
* mpeg video stream typefiding removed because it's broken
* duplicate typefind entries removed
* extra id3 typefinding added, because we've seen 4 types of files
(riff/wav, flac, vorbis, mp3) with id3 headers and each of these needs
to work. Instead, I've added an id3 element and let it redo typefiding
after the id3 header. this needs a hack because spider only typefinds
once. We can remove this hack once spider supports multiple typefinds.
* with all this, mp3 typefinding is semi-rewritten
* id3 typefinding in flac/vorbis is removed, it's no longer needed
* fixed spider and gst-typefind to use this, too.
* Other general cleanups
Original commit message from CVS:
Adding needed license information. The patch was reviewed and approved by
Christian Shaller. Ronald Bultje and Benjamin also responded with
comments.
Original commit message from CVS:
* actually recurse into sndfile if we are able
* big ladspa cleanups, mainly to comply with the buffer-frames caps property, but also general
cleanups
- the samplerate prop is gone, if you want to set it explicitly (as in for get-based plugins)
you need to use a filtered connection, just like with buffer-frames
* big float2int and int2float changes for buffer-frames compatibility - I think it's quite a bit
simpler
* make the ossclock general, add it to gstaudio, and use it in sndfile as well
i need to update mimetypes, but that's coming soon. there are some other plugins that don't
support buffer-frames, i guess i need to get around to fixing them as well.

A fairly large reworking of the ladspa _get, _chain and _loop funcs.
highlights are:
- pad names are now g_strcanonised
- in all cases possible, src and sink buffers are shared
- all ladspa properties are exposed as dparams and element properties
- the buffers are now processed in dparam driven loops
- timestamps on buffers should be correct
- misc fixes

* on sink connect, check if the current pad is compatible with the given
caps
* cleaned up debug output
* change pad template to only accept allowed sample rates
if these changes are considered ok by others then the same should be
applied to other encoding plugins (notably the compatibility check)
Original commit message from CVS:
somebody help me fix lame ;)
I commented out the state change function because it is called before lame has the right caps.
Is the state change function still necessary ?
in any case, at least now lame actually listens to osssrc re: rate and channels
Original commit message from CVS:
I checked lame packages and source code and they seem to want lame.h in
prefix/include/lame.h
so I fixed stuff accordingly.
Do any systems have lame in include/lame/lame.h ?
If so, mail me and we'll work it out.
Original commit message from CVS:
Reworked the DV decoder.
- make it do RGB or YUV output using caps negotiation
- use bytestream to read data.
- autodetect PAL/NTSC
Original commit message from CVS:
Updated ladspa to work with the new caps nego stuff. Also updated it to work in
any M sinkpads by N srcpads configuration (M > -1 and N > 0), using a loop
function for configurations other than M == N == 1 or M == 0.
Original commit message from CVS:
... and cvs commits should not be allowed for people who spent six hours
on the phone talking to hardware vendors and struggling with failing raid
systems
Original commit message from CVS:
how do people expect sdl to build if make has no way of getting to the dir
and we don't point it in the right direction ?
Original commit message from CVS:
muahahahaha. gstreamer-compprep initializes every plugin so it's a good way
of figuring out plugin issues. it spits out no more errors now.
Original commit message from CVS:
made changes everywhere to accomodate for the headers being in
<gst/(lib)/...>
we'll need to conclude this fast because we will also need to change stuff in core real soon for the libs in order to fix everything
and I can't do it right now because I disabled all of the plugins here ;)
Original commit message from CVS:
added esd
added new autogen.sh feature :
list all of the libs/plugins you want to disable in a file called "disable"
and they will. makes it easier to check stuff when you're working on one
a file "enable" does the opposite. You're on your own if you make them
conflict ;)
CML2 anyone ?
fixed some xvideo stuff, can't remember what though
