GStreamer multimedia framework
Original commit message from CVS: Changed the GstPadFactory and added the GstPadTemplate. The GstPadFactory is an easy way to define a pad with capabilities. The GstPadFactory is converted into a GstPadTemplate. The template is used to create new pads and to expose the possible pads used in an element to the plugin system. updated mp3parse, mpg123, cdparanoia to the new API. Rerun gstreamer-register because the XML definition has changed. |

This is gnome-streamer, a framework for streaming media in GNOME. The fundamental design comes from the video pipeline at Oregon Graduate Institute, as well as some ideas from DirectMedia. It's based on plug-ins that will provide the various codec and other functionality. The interface hopefully is generic enough for various companies (ahem, Apple) to release binary codecs for Linux, until such time as they get a clue and release the source.
