GStaticRecMutex is part of our API/ABI, not much we can do here

... so as to ensure consistent playback with or without seek, especially
in presence of some bogus edit list entries.

Do some type juggling to avoid overflow, while still allowing for 'negative'
durations (which would need a wraparound effect).
