Tim-Philipp Müller 7f98b12d91 autotools: stop controlling symbol visibility with -export-symbols-regex 
Instead, use -fvisibility=hidden and explicit exports via GST_EXPORT.
This should result in consistent behaviour for the autotools and
Meson builds.

Nicolas Dufresne 4a906e412e Remove plugin specific static build option 
Static and dynamic plugins now have the same interface. The standard
--enable-static/--enable-shared toggle are sufficient.

Sebastian Dröge c37da5d89c Revert "build: fix make distcheck." 
This reverts commit 462727d6d8.

This "fix" broke the build on Windows, where both prefix and datadir are
absolute paths and as such we would concatenate two absolute paths and fail.
