Remove plugin specific static build option
...
Static and dynamic plugins now have the same interface. The standard
--enable-static/--enable-shared toggle are sufficient.

There does not seem to be a way to retrieve information
about why failure occured, unfortunately.
When failure occurs, do not post a NULL fingerprint tag.
